SAME AS WE EVER WERE
17:00 – 20:00 Albert Dock
Community performers aged 1 – 75 join MDI on a dance time trail through the Dock as they attempt to stop time in place. Everyone has those special places to which they return repeatedly throughout their life – a holiday village, a local park: for whatever reason these places draw us back to a time we want to experience again and again. Things may change around us, we change as we age but in that moment we feel we can be the same as we ever were.
Working with five community groups, movement material changes and manifests itself throughout this experiential performance as the dance passes from group to group. Performers change and mature as the evening passes, leading us through memories and experience on a trail through Albert Dock.
Starts from the Daniel Adamson ship before moving to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. building, Merseyside Maritime Museum and Mermaid Courtyard.
