May 17th is IDAHO day- International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

MDI want to fill the Grand Hall in St Georges Hall, Liverpool with people performing the Big Dance Schools pledge.

CAN YOU HELP! It will only take 1hour and 5 minutes of your time on Friday 18th May.

We have dance groups and schools - Now we are looking for individuals, groups of friends, families, people on their lunch break to join us. Everyone can join in you don't need any previous dance experience and all ages welcome.

Come along to St Georges Hall at 12pm Friday 18th May and learn a few simple steps ready to perform as part of the World Record breaking attempt at 1pm.

Big Dance 2012 is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of dance. In the North West we will be working to create one Mega mass participatory dance performance, bringing together up to 1,500 people in one location.

MDI are looking for 50 participants to represent Liverpool in this amazing event and will be holding open workshops for the creation of the performance piece. The workshops will be open to anyone over the age of 11 willing to learn new dance skills, work with others in a fun, creative environment and have a commitment to the project.

Where: MDI Studio 24, 24 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BX

When: Monday 5.30 – 7.00pm starting 16^th April running through to the final performance in July

There will be two performances involved in the project:

Friday 1^st June (times tbc) and Sunday 15^th July (times tbc)You must be available for both of these performance dates
