International Dance Day (IDD) began on 29th April 1982 by the Internaional Dance Council a UNESCO partner. For MDI IDD has been a annual event for more then 10 years. The event is produced to attract the attention of the wider public to the art of dance aiming to to attract new audiences who do not normally follow dance events.
Feedback from past participants:
“What a wonderful afternoon, you even organised the weather. We really enjoyed ourselves and I thought it was a magnificently friendly event, lots of variety showing what goes on and a tremendous advertisement for MDI. Thank you so much we had a great time” Judy Smith (|Growing Older Disgracefully)
“Great day Sunday – really pleased with how smooth it all went. Looking forward to next years now!” Fiona Hilton. Technical Manager
At first I was extremly apprehensive about Sundays performace. However on the day I felt a real community spirit amongst all the dancers. The day was extremly well organised and I felt Maxine‘s MC was amazing. I loved every aspect of the day and would love an opportunity to be part of another community event susch as the IDD . All in all AMAZING DAY and it also helped that the weather was great. Well done Maxine!
We really enjoyed the event , it was a lot of fun. All the acts were great to watch and listen to. There was all different types of dance styles and ages. It was well organised and gave information about all the groups. A lot of the dance groups seemed to be about having fun, enjoying themselves but also putting on a great show. Its given my kids confidence with moving to music and performing.

" We enjoyed variety of dances and relax and pleasant atmosphere. We were surprised that there are so many groups of such different ages. It was lovely as we were proud to see children dancing and how much they learned in such a short period of time." (audience and Steppin Fresh Parent)
