A gentle and safe way to experience dance, we welcome carers, friends and family members to share the experience.
Based on English National Ballet’s contemporary and classical repertoire, Dance for Parkinson’s classes provide a fun and informal way for participants to discover the themes, choreography and music of the ballet, with special opportunities to attend exclusive behind-the-scenes events and see the Company perform.
This programme is proven to support people with Parkinson’s to develop confidence and strength, whilst temporarily relieving some participants of symptoms in everyday life. Classes are expressive, creative and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of having Parkinson’s.
No dance or ballet experience required. Classes are £4 per person and we ask that the full course (10 weeks) is paid for in advance. If you are not able to do this but still want to attend, please get in touch so we can find a solution.

Attendance & Registration
ll dance classes are drop-in, and do not follow a structured curriculum. Participants are welcome to start a class at any point during a term, and should never worry about missing a session. If you are new to a class, please arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time to complete a short registration form. Information collected during registration is required for health and safety reasons only, and will not be shared externally.
What to Wear
Leggings and t-shirts or other comfortable clothes are perfect for most classes. Some classes recommend specific dance shoes, but otherwise bare feet is fine. Check with us in advance if you are unsure: 0151 708 8810.
Payments & Pricing
Class prices vary, and some are subsidised through our charitable funding. All classes can be paid for on the day in cash (although some ask for payment for a full term in advance, specified on the listing). A number of classes are also available to book online in advance - a "book now" button is clickable where this is the case.
For all classes run by MDI teachers (Beginners & Open Ballet, Beginners & Open Contemporary, Pro Class) you can purchase a 10 Class Card, which can be used across any combination of these classes. Please note that all 10 classes must be taken within one year of purchase, and cannot be used for MDI summer courses.
Our classes follow the academic year, with a reduced timetable during half-term or other holidays for Liverpool schools, and will be highlighted as such. To check school holiday dates, please visit liverpool.gov.uk
