Qi Gong and Tai Chi (Intermediate)

This class is for returners who know the 18 Qi gong and are working on the Yang Tai Chi 24 form.

We use the 18 Qi Gong form as our warm up, before moving on to Tai Chi postures in more detail.

Students who have learnt the Tai Chi form elsewhere are also welcome.

I love to see individuals progress in Qi Gong and Tai Chi, as practise can bring so many benefits to health and mental wellbeing.

Please wear loose comfortable clothes, pumps or light trainers.

£60 for 12 sessions payable in advance, or in two payments of £30.

Class Information

We offer classes for all ages and abilities in our studio, ranging from Beginner’s Ballet to Professional Commercial classes. All classes are suitable for adults aged 16+ (unless otherwise stated).

Access

We're based at 24 Hope Street, with Studio 1 on the ground floor, and Studio 2 on the first floor. Press the buzzer for Studio 1 or 2 and your teacher will let you in. There is also find an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

Ability Levels

Please use the drop down menu at the top of the site to find the class that best suits you. You can search by age group, type of class or level, and we offer classes from Beginners to Professional level. Open Level classes are for all abilities, and teachers will offer options depending on your level (some dance experience is recommended).

Attendance & Registration

All dance classes are drop-in, and do not follow a curriculum. Participants are welcome to start a class at any point during a term, and shouldn't worry about missing a session. If you are new to a class, please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start to complete a short registration form. Information collected during registration is required for health and safety reasons only, and will not be shared externally.

What to Wear

Leggings and t-shirts or other comfortable clothes are perfect for most classes. Some classes recommend specific dance shoes, but otherwise bare feet is fine. Check with us in advance if you are unsure.

Payments & Pricing

Class prices vary, and some are subsidised through our charitable funding. All classes can be paid for on the day in cash (although some ask for payment for a full term in advance, specified on the listing).

For all classes run by MDI teachers (Beginners & Open Ballet, Beginners & Open Contemporary, Pro Class) you can purchase a 10 Class Card, which can be used across any combination of these classes. Please note that all 10 classes must be taken within one year of purchase, and cannot be used for MDI summer courses.

Term Dates

Our classes follow the academic year, with a reduced timetable during half-term or other holidays for Liverpool schools, and will be highlighted as such. To check school holiday dates, please visit liverpool.gov.uk
