Hannah Ballard is a multidisciplinary dance artist experienced in performance, direction and choreography. She is founder and AD of Sole Rebel. Sole Rebel are a female-led company who move to their own beat, taking rhythm, storytelling and making music with their feet since 2010.
Hannah is currently developing her research and practice through an MA in performance at Liverpool Hope University. Hannah studied Professional Tap and Music Practice at Escola Luthier de Dansa, Barcelona in 2016 and Physical Theatre with The Performers Playground in 2017. She completed her original training at London Studio Centre. Over the past 18 years she has performed and choreographed throughout the UK with various companies, specialising in contemporary, tap dance, aerial and dance theatre.
Hannah performed as an aerialist with Wired Aerial Theatre from 2010-2018, involved in the productions As The World Tipped, Frida and Slice, touring prestigious outdoor festivals worldwide. As a contemporary dance artist she has had the pleasure of working and collaborating with; Laila Diallo, Andrea Buckley, Helen Ganberg, Marc Brew, Fiona Millward, Marie-Louise Flexen, Susanne Thomas, Yael Flexer, Sharon Watson, Mickael ‘Marso’ Riviere and Henri Oguike amongst others.
She is passionate about engaging with the community and teaches regular classes in Liverpool. She has taught dance through various education establishments including; Liverpool Hope University, LIPA, CAT (The Lowry), DanceXchange, MDI, Swindon Dance, The Point, Pegasus Theatre, Winchester University, Wessex Dance Academy, Edge Hill University, Wired Aerial Theatre and Tap Festival UK.
