Our collaborative class with @dancesyndromeuk, Dancing Together, is a series of fun, inclusive and engaging dance sessions led by David Darcy and Helen Cherry!

The class aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for participants to meet and socialise with new people, express their creativity and to build their confidence in a safe, supportive environment.

Intermediate Ballet is ideal for those keen on progressing their current Ballet experience.

The class focuses on developing classical ballet techniques, including correct posture, positioning of the feet and arms, and developing muscle strength and flexibility.

You can expect to begin the session with exercises on the barre focusing on alignment and developing muscle strength.

After some gentle stretching, the session will focus on centre work (in the middle of the studio, away from the barre). Excruciates focus on control, balance and travelling steps.

Taught at an intermediate level, this class is ideal for those ready to advance their technique.

MDI passionately supports the local independent dance scene. We aim to nurture dancers and choreographers by supporting their continued development and providing high-quality professional training to help dance artists reach their full potential.

Arianna Sansone is a dance artist with a background in theatrical performing arts that range from ballet to contemporary dance. Her personal language of movement uses improvisation as a method to develop and stimulate creativity. One of her main interests is the human body, its natural movement and its innumerable facets.

The class will consist of a warm-up, exercises to stimulate creativity and improvisation, a dance sequence that will incorporate elements of contemporary dance and “Tanztheater “ with the aim to highlight the potential of each body.

These sessions welcome both experienced performers and dancers."
