Dance for Parkinson’s will be delivered as a Hybrid class both via Zoom and in-person. This page is for anyone wanting to attend in person. Please visit our class timetable if you would like to attend via Zoom.
Working in Partnership with English National Ballet, we have been delivering Dance for Parkinson’s workshops in Liverpool since 2012.
Dance for Parkinson’s is a welcoming class that introduces gentle and joyful movement to live music, through the repertory performance work of English National Ballet.
It provides a fun and informal way for participants to discover the themes, choreography and music of performance, with opportunities to attend exclusive behind-the-scenes events and see the Company perform.
The classes encompass movement, music and voice work, with a social focus aiming to support the management of living with Parkinson’s. Dance can improve the fluidity of movement, improve posture and inspire creativity in and awareness of movement. Rhythm can encourage cueing actions and singing aims to build strength in the voice and facial expression.
No dance or ballet experience required. Friends and/or family are welcome to join Classes are £3.50 per person. Classes are delivered by Jennie Hale and Stephen Mannings.

We have a number of options:
6-Class Pass: For regulars wanting a little flexibility. Your class pass can be redeemed against any 6 50 Moves classes in the calendar. £19
Single Class: For newcomers wanting to give the class a try or those wanting the freedom of booking one class at a time. £3.50
Practicing at Home
Please make sure you have plenty of space to practice safely and comfortably. Take a rest or a water break any time you need one. If you are practicing yoga or pilates please back out of any postures that bring you pain or discomfort, take a rest and come back to the class when you are ready. Your teacher will give you any additional instructions or advice at the start of your Zoom.
We have new processes and measures in place to keep you safe. Please read our Studio Guidelines before booking.
We're based at 24 Hope Street, with Studio 1 on the Ground Floor, and Studio 2 on the first floor. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor.
What to Wear
Leggings and t-shirts or other comfortable clothes are perfect for most classes. Some classes recommend specific dance shoes, but otherwise bare feet is fine. Check with us in advance if you are unsure.
Payments & Pricing
Studio classes are run by MDI and some are subsidised through our charitable funding.
Some classes run right through term breaks, others take time out. Please check the website to find out when your class is running.
All classes are suitable for adults aged 16+ (unless otherwise stated).
