Dance for Health

“MDI champions, initiates, supports and engages with breadth and diversity in dance. MDI championed me. Without MDI my life in dance would have been poorer in health. I champion MDI.” Liz Aggiss, Dance Artist.

It’s been proven that dance can boost wellbeing, not only through the benefits of exercise but by giving people a chance to learn something new, make new friends and feel included in a group. We work with health sector partners such as The Brain Charity, as well as other arts organisations to carry out our work in the community – and the experiences we help create are truly remarkable.

For older people, we offer weekly classes: 50 Moves and Men Dancing. Our Dance and Health projects include Dance for Parkinson’s in collaboration with English National Ballet and Physiotherapy Through Dance with The Brain Charity.

Our 2021 Dance for Health programme is generously supported by Skelton Charity, administered through LCVS.
